Part of the success of solitaire lies in its ease: in addition to being a board game that can be played by one person alone, its rules are very simple: you only have to build four piles of cards classified by their suits, in ascending order.

What is the goal of solitaire?
The objective of solitaire is to arrange the cards in four piles according to their suit (spades, clubs, hearts and diamonds) in ascending order, starting with the ace.

And what are the steps to play solitaire? Start by organizing the cards into seven columns. From right to left, place them like this:

Six cards face down and one face up.
Five cards face down and one face up.
Four cards face down and one face up.
Three cards face down and one face up.
Two cards face down and one face up.

Place the remaining deck of cards face down in a corner.

When you have the board organized in columns, you can begin to make moves: descending (K, Q, J, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2 and ace) and alternating the colors of red to black or the different suits, place the cards in the different columns. You can only turn over face-down cards when you don't have any face-up cards on them.

When you take an ace, you must put it in a separate pile, which is on which you will place the rest of the cards of the same suit, this time in ascending order: ace, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 , 10, J, Q and K.

More rules? If a column becomes empty, you can only start filling it again by placing a K (a king) in the gap. If the card you are going to use has others on top of it, you will have to move them all together, from one column to another; and if you have no options among the cards in the columns, you must draw from the deck.

When does solitaire end?
Solitaire ends either when you have managed to place all the cards of each of the four suits in ascending order (congratulations, you have won!) or when you get stuck and cannot continue placing cards in the columns in descending order.
